Service Description
Why should the kids have all the fun? Heavy Metal is for independent makers who appreciate flexibility and a keen community. A Heavy Metal membership is your ticket to drop in for ten casual sessions, between 7-9pm on Tronbots evenings. Your ten-session card will be clipped on arrival. Clips can also be used to cover the cost of sheet materials and tournament entry. Tronbots Heavy Metal is available on the first eight Thursday evenings of each school term. The final tournament - a celebration of Tronbots builds from all members - is the following Saturday. Prepare for a big day of family-friendly fun. See current dates in the Tronbots Build membership option. Like the sound of Heavy Metal? Come share your knowledge and benefit from that of others. Maybe it's coding, electronics interfacing, mechanical design, or use of advanced materials like carbon fibre or UHMWPE. Heavy Metal is less structured and more flexible than traditional Tronbots sessions, designed to encourage collaboration and open exploration. Enjoy the great venue, relaxed approach, Make: magazines, 3D modelling laptops, 3D printers, and of course all the usual Tronbots equipment. Smash nights are an added bonus with the arena available for informal battles. Smash nights are the 2nd and 6th Thursday of each school term. Again, see the Build membership for dates. Newbies are encouraged to sign up first for the Build option, but of course, you're still welcome along to Heavy Metal.
